Don't Worry, I'm not Offended
Responses from Females
"How far along are you?" Me- "I'm (insert # of weeks)" "Wow! You are tiny!"
"You don't even look pregnant from the back"
"You are carrying around a little basketball"
"You are such a cute pregnant lady"
I have even had some ladies hesistate asking me. Because every women knows that you don't ask a women if their pregnant unless you know they are!
Responses from Males (with good intentions I hope)
"You look like your ready to have a baby soon" Me- "Oh I still have (insert # of weeks)" "Oh. You look further along than you are"
"Whoa... you are pregnant!" (Really?... I had no idea!)
"You look like you are about to pop!"
"When you gonna have that baby... Yesterday?"
So bless the men's hearts. I don't get offended... I just laugh at some of their comments. I don't mind that I have a huge belly. I am carrying a little life inside me. That is a gift. Even if pregnancy is no picnic. And I am sure the birth will be hard, the recovery difficult, and the caring for a brand new baby with sleepless nights will be challenging... but, I am grateful for it all! So keep the comments coming. I can take them!

Has It Really Been a Decade?

2001

2003
Started my first semester of Nursing school. Decided to take the "fast track" program which was 5 semesters consecutively. Spring,Summer, Fall, Spring, Summer semesters. I worked nights at my job. Never got any sleep. I went to Southern California on Spring break with my cousin Katie. When we got back we went to Fat Cats bowling with the sorority girls. There I met Chris. Thought he wasn't interested. Found out later he was. Moved out of my first apartment to the 4-plex with Katie and Stacie. Went to Vegas 3 months later with all the friends and Chris and we started to date after that. Then he moved to Northern California at the end of June. Visited him in August and decided I wanted to only date him. Nursing school, nursing school, nursing school, with the occasional visit back and forth from Salt Lake to California. Visited Chris over New Years.2004
More nursing school. Trying to decide if I was going to move to California when I finished nursing school. Chris moved back to Utah instead to be close to his family (and me!). Graduated from nursing school (HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!) Got my job where I did my capstone, on the Infant Unit at Primary Children's. Decided that I was going to learn how to snowboard. Started Scrap booking again.
2005
Determined to learn how to snowboard, I practically taught myself by reading about and watching people, and chasing after my friend Jen who is really good. She didn't have much patience when it came to teaching. Went on a cruise with 4 really good friends and had a blast! One of my favorite vacations ever. At the end of the year Chris and I talked about getting married and made some plans to do so the next spring.
2006
The year started out difficult. Chris's dad was in and out of the ICU with pneumonia. I lost one of my patients whose family I had gotten real close to. Then Chris's Dad passed away in early March. It was a tough time, especially for Chris. We had hoped his Dad would be here for the wedding. But we got engaged and decided that May 25th was the day for us. We were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on a perfect May day and had our Reception at The Point Restaurant. We Honeymooned in Maui. Then I came home for a week and went to Alaska with my family to visit my sister Jill. We visited Chris's sister Melanie in Miami in August. Then we went through the process of house hunting and found a great 3 bedroom condo. We moved in in November.+213.jpg)
2007
Made a lot of changes to our condo. Mostly painting, but a few other projects including tile. We were supposed to go to Oahu for our 1st anniversary, but ended up having to settle for California because stand by flying is not all it's cracked up to be. It's OK. We made it to Oahu in the fall. My cousin Katie got married. We adopted our adorable kitties in September. I worked almost all night shifts this year which really messed up my schedule. Decided not to do full time nights anymore.
2008
Started off with lots of snowboarding. Chris started school at Devry University in March. I started my blog in April. Went to San Diego with Katie and her Husband Tedd. Made some great memories and inside jokes that we still laugh about. I became a Charge Nurse at my work. Third wheeled it on a vacation to Kauai with Katie and Tedd since Chris had to stay home and work on school. It was still a blast, but I would have preferred he had been with me. Got a snowboarding pass with my friend Jeff. Started really thinking about expanding our family.
2009
Had a blast snowboarding with Jeff all season. There was a lot of snowfall in January which made for some great powder days. Went to Hawaii (the big island) in March with Katie and Tedd so I could say I've been to all the major islands in Hawaii. Found out we were expecting in June. Went and visited my SIL in Arizona and my friend Lisa in Vegas. Chris had his appendix out. And we found out we were having A BOY!
I can't believe that it has been 10 years since I graduated from high school. Time sure does fly if you really think about it. It was full of great memories. Now on to a new year and a new decade! May it be the most exciting and adventurous yet!

Random Thoughts on This January Day
I worry too much about things. The top of my list at the moment is when I am going to deliver? Is everything going to be OK? Will I know when I am actually going into labor or will I be one of those new mom's in and out of Labor and Delivery because I can't tell I am having braxton hicks or true labor? I have a million questions running through my head constantly. What is he going to look like? What is his personality going to be like? Is he going to be healthy? Will the delivery go smoothly? Is he going to sleep at night? Will I be able to breast feed? Can I really handle this?
I love soda. But can barely drink it because it makes my heartburn so bad. So by default I have become a water drinker. I have always wanted to be a water drinker, but it is never the beverage I desire to drink. Plus I am picky about water taste and temperature. I can't drink water straight from the tap unless it is the tap water at my parents house (the water I grew up on). I can't drink luke warm water either. I can only drink water from the Brita pitcher in a GLASS (NOT plastic!) cup or bottle water that has been refrigerated for at least 4 hours. I like ice, but I don't like the ice made by our fridge in my Brita water because it makes it taste funny. But I can use that ice in any other beverage. I also get lemon when I get water from a restaurant to mask potentially funny tasting water. It seems to do the trick. I know what your thinking.... She's CrAzY! I am.... CRAZY PICKY about my water! I just hope the whole water drinking thing sticks since soda is so terrible for you.
I honestly think that if I wasn't around, my husband would live in total filth. Messes don't bother him as much as they bother me. Our front room and bedroom has been in complete disarray since the carpet was installed. Since I have been working and can't lift much and he started a new semester this week it has been a total mess. But it doesn't phase him. While I have been insanely grumpy all week.
I hate scraping off my car. I am looking forward to the future when someday I will have a garage to park my car in. Then on cold mornings I can just drive out of the garage and not have to worry about standing in 10 degree weather scrapping my car off.
I am addicted to my iPhone. They need to stop making apps and games that are so addicting! I need to wean myself from it, because I have it with me all the time. I am ashamed of my addiction by the way, so I am surprised I am sharing this with all of you.

New Carpet and a Whole Lotta Gifts!
Then my mom and sister threw me a baby shower. It was so much fun! I know that showers aren't that fun to go to, but they sure are fun when they are thrown for you! I got lots of great stuff!
Here is my cute sister Sara. She is moving to California in 2 days. I am so sad to see her go, but I know it is a great opportunity for her and something she has always wanted to do. Thanks sister for the great shower.
Here is my Mom and Grandma. My Mom made the most wonderful array of delicious food. I just wanted to keep eating! Thanks Mom for all of your hard work! My nearly 80 year old Grandma made this beautiful quilt in a matter of a week. She found out about my shower right around Christmas time and managed to work her tail off to get this blanket done in time for my shower. She always made a baby blanket for all her grandchildren, and she continues the tradition with her great grand children. Thanks Grandma for all your hard work! He will love his little teddy blanket.
My Sister-in-law Lori and My Mother-in-law Marybeth.
My Aunt Pam, Aunt Jan, Me, Cousin Katie, Cousin Ally, Cousin Mindi, and Grandma.
Aunt Kayla and Cousin Kourtney

And here is a sneak peak of the nursery. New Paint and New Carpet. I will post more once we get the furniture!
