Last week Chris and I, and my cousin Katie and her husband Tedd went to San Diego. It was a nice get away. We flew
stand-by like always since both our husbands work at the airport. And let me tell you Stand-by flying is not for the weak of heart because it can be very nerve racking. However, we made smart choices on the flights so we were able to get there and home on the days we wanted.
I haven't been to Sea World since I was about eight. I love sea creatures and wanted to go. All the shows were pretty entertaining, little cheesy. My favorite was the Shamu/Killer Whale show with the trainers
flying through the air. There are also rides at Sea World. There was one that was like the Jurassic Park ride and Universal Studios where you get soaked. Unfortunately we went on that one at the beginning of the day. So everyone was soaked except me. (I brought a hoodie and covered myself during the big splash part.)
So we were done with the wet rides after that, and avoided the "soak" zones at all the shows. My suggestion if you attend Sea World is wear your SUNSCREEN, swimsuit, and go on a pretty warm day. Every attraction offers getting soaked and 80% of the park is outside. All of us initially forgot to wear sunscreen so we all ended up being red lobsters. My scalp got th
e worst of it. It is still flaking!
We also went to the Wild Animal Park. It is better then the zoo because all the animals are together (at least the ones that don't eat each other). All the African animals were together on this large stretch of land. We all piled into a safari-like train that goes around the land. So it was interesting. The lions had just had a bunch of cubs that were adorable.
We went to Old Town the last day which was CRAZY because everyone was celebrating Cinco de Mayo. But we ate some authentic Mexican food and did a little shopping. It was a very nice vacation.
