My Grandmother is 78 and can still make a mean turkey! She is an excellent cook and can make some of the best homemade wheat bread I have ever tasted! My aunt Jan's rolls are to die for! I love 'em. Oh and my mom's pies... I have always despised pie crust, but my mom's pie's are so good that I will eat them gone! Needless to stay we all stuffed our faces silly like everyone does on Thanksgiving.
After the grand meal some people sleep, some watch football, some visit... but ME and my Aunt Jan and her daughters all plot our next day shopping trip. It has been a tradition since I was 13 when I used to stay with my cousins after Thanksgiving. My cousin Mindi had just left on her Mission so my Aunt Jan needed some extra hands to help grab stuff on sale. So we went, had a blast, and have gone every year since. Now all her girls go!We always leave with stories of our shopping adventures. Like the fight we saw break out between two men (that's right, men go too!) as we were running into Shopko that was a little heated and included one slamming the other into the wall. Tripping over the soda crates that had fallen onto the floor. Being hit by peoples carts in the tiny electronic section of Shopko (GRAB AND GO PEOPLE!). Park your cart over in automotive or something. Not getting Mindi's external hard drive :(. Waiting in line an hour at Kohls. Running through the mall at 6:00 am to get to Radio Shack and then being 3rd in line to clean house of their skull candy ear buds. Getting Ally's MP3 player. Finding a new place (that wasn't crowded!) for breakfast. And just laughing the whole time at the craziness of people INCLUDING our own!

Your Black Friday sounds like an adventure! I've never been into it, at all. If I go, I go later in the day. I'm a big fan of staying at home and shopping online. :)
Dang those external hard drives ! Last year we wanted one so bad, and of course they had, like 5 on the shelf, all gone by the time we got there....we got a raincheck, and Target never got them in again. We just bought one some where else.
That sounds so fun!
Black Friday shopping takes dedication - and I so don't have it! Congrats on all your deals :)
Black Friday takes dedication. Dedication that sadly, I don't have. (I can barely get out of bed at 7am!)
i am so convinced that you are crazy to brave the early morning, the shopping and all of the crazy crowds.
Glad you made it through Black Friday safe and sound (did you hear about the Wal-Mart worker who was trampled to death by the rushing crowd on Friday? I think it happened in Texas or Tennesse ...)
Anyway, it looks like you guys had fun. Thanks for the great book review. I love you!
p.s. Christmas is looking tougher and tougher to work out coming home, but I may be able to get a super cheap ticket to Hawaii in mid-January during Geoff's Honolulu Hurt 100 race. Interested in meeting me there?
And that was just another reminder of why I don't shop on Black Friday... :)
But I do have to say, I did go to Kohl's around 11am on Fri to kill some time before a movie and the line freaking wrapped around THE WHOLE STORE TWICE!!! WTH??? I walked right out. There is NOTHING that I want that is worth standing in a line like that... Props to you Lis!
I love black friday as much as you guys do. Me and my sisters have been going for years and we have a blast. I hear ya about the Kohl's line...we usually go to Kohls every year but last year we were in line to buy our stuff for about 1 hr. We were smarter this year we planned who would snag a spot in line while the other people shopped and then we just switched off from there...good times!
ive done it a few times...never agin. i am a wuss.
plus- didnt you hear- christmas was cancelled!
You look Dang good for supposedly stuffing yourself :) We should really get together some time and catch up!! :) Remember "Now and Then" days? :)
