1. Where did you and your husband meet?
When people say we met through "friends" to hide the fact that they met on the Internet or a sleazy club, well, Chris and I really did meet through friends. My friend Megan that I met in college at my LDS sorority went to high school with Chris and all his friends. My friends from sorority decided to go to Fat Cat's bowling ally in Salt Lake City, and Megan invited her friend Carey and his friends Kevin and Chris. Before we met up with my friends, my cousin Katie and I were waiting in line to get our shoes and I saw Chris. Immediately I exclaimed "My team!" (My cousin and I would place hot guys on our own team and ugly guys on the opposite persons team). So when I found out he was with our friends I was so excited! I kept trying to talk to Chris, but he wouldn't really talk to me. So I ended up talking to his friend Kevin more. I thought he was stuck up, but actually he was just shy. He didn't really talk to me for about 3 months after that, so when Megan told me he thought I was cute and wanted to ask me out I didn't believe her.
2. How long before you kissed? We met in March of 2003 and kissed sometime in June. We hadn't technically "gone out" on a date, we had just been hanging out.
3. Who kissed who first? Chris kissed me in the dark, after a movie, with my roommates and his friend in the room. He actually is very proud of this story.
4. How long from the time you met until you were engaged? 3 years. We got engaged in March of 2006. The first year we dated, Chris lived out in California. He moved 2 weeks after our "first date". But he came back!
5. How did he propose?
He had just gotten back from Hawaii. He came over to my apartment and we went into my room. He seemed so nervous, so I knew something was up. He brought me a gift of different Hawaiian items. At the bottom was this little box with a flower on it. Inside was my ring! For the record... he did get down on one knee.
He did. But he had an idea of what I liked because we had gone ring shopping.
7. Do you still like the ring?
Yep!8. Where was your wedding and reception?
We got married in the (LDS) Salt Lake Temple at 1:00 pm. Afternoon is seriously the best time to get married!
Our reception was at "The Point" restaurant in the Huntsman Cancer Institute. (Hey, I am a nurse.)
9. How many bridesmaids did you have and who was your maid of honor?
I had 3 bridesmaids (my favorite number). No maid of honor. How could I pick one out of my three favorite ladies?
10. What color were your bridesmaid dresses?
Blue and Green. These are notoriously known as quoted by my Dad as "the most expensive bridesmaids dresses of all time." My wonderfully talented and generous mother sewed these dresses from fabric I picked out because we had spent two full days looking for dresses and couldn't seem to find any that were my "colors". So my mom decided it would be better to make the dresses, so I could pick out the colors and design. Being a perfectionist, she sewed my little sister Sara's dress 3 times! She spent hours and hours day AND night sewing. But I have to say... they were perfect. One of my favorite things about my wedding. I will be forever indebted to her for all her hard work and countless hours of stress over them. But I LOVED THEM MOM! Thank you! That is why they truly are "the most expensive" dresses.11. What was your bouquet made of?
Lilies and Hydrangea's. My favorite flowers! I loved my bouquet!
12. Who gave you away? No body... because no one had to!
13. Did you cry during your wedding?
Of course! I am a crier. If I didn't that would be weird! Did he? nope. He stood strong!
14. What style was your dress?
SEE HERE:
15. Was your wedding kiss sweet or sexy?
Sweet, my grandma was there!
16. Who caught your bouquet?
My cute cousin Ally. She was 16 at the time.
17. What flavor was your cake?
Tier 1: White
Tier 2: Chocolate, with chocolate filling
Tier 3: White with raspberry filling.
I actually really loved my cake. We got it at Dans and then my florist put fresh flowers on it. Too bad I never got to try it!
P.S. If you are not married... Don't save the top of the cake and try to eat it on your first anniversary. Eat it like the next day. Because it is very unappetizing and freezer burnt if you don't!18. Did you smash the cake onto each other's faces or feed it to each other nicely?
We discussed this before hand, so we didn't. But when you feed eachother cake, you end up getting frosting on your face anyway!
19. What was "your song" that you danced to at your wedding?
We didn't have dancing at the wedding per Chris's request. However I would say our song is "Best of Me" by The Starting Line.
20. What did you serve your guests to eat?
Fresh fruit and an assortment of delicious desserts. Food is expensive! So we did dessert. I actually didn't eat any of it!
21. What did your friends do to decorate your car? It didn't happen (Thank the Maker!) The last thing you want to do on your wedding night is clean your car!
22. What was your favorite wedding gift?
Money is always the best gift. However, I also really liked my Rubbermaid Tupperware. It is fabulous!
23. What was the worst wedding gift you got?
Honestly, we received a glass pitcher that had dust in the bottom!!! Three months after we got married!!!! Seriously!! Why even bother?!? I didn't send them a thank you.
24. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
25. Looking back, is there anything you would have changed about your wedding?
I probably would have liked to not have had a panic attack before the wedding breakfast because some old lady hit my car in the conference center parking lot. (There was little damage to my car). I didn't even get to enjoy seeing everyone at my breakfast because I was late and sobbing/hyperventilating hysterically. All I could think was... how could this happen to me on my wedding day!!

And your sister is so wonderful! She is sending me her book for free!
I remember running into your mom at South Towne and she was running errands for your wedding! She sounds like she did A LOT for your big day!
And I too LOVE hydrangeas! They are my favorite.
You looked gorgeous!
Wow, great post! I loved your cake and your bouquet!
And yes, the afternoon IS the best time to get married. :) I actually tried to reserve my time for 1:00 but it was taken. So I had to go for 3:00.
Sorry that a lady hit you on your wedding day! Que's sister-in-law got in an accident on our wedding day too. :(
