So I decided to try these Fiber One bars, one because it was a healthier choice compared to some of the other snacks I eat. And two because my friend recommended them. She said they were really tasty. She was right, they are a great chocolate-y treat.
It took me a few days to realize the consequences of eating fiber. At first I thought I had recently become lactose intolerant because the same day I ate 2 bars, I had 2 glasses of chocolate milk (not something I drink regularly). It was only about 5 days later that I discovered the source of my severe bloating and pain was that of the Fiber One Bar.The gas released from my body was putting my husbands gas to shame. The first few days of eating them I had off of work so I was able to relieve the pressure without being judged (thanks Chris!). But I made the mistake of eating one during a night shift at work. I visited the restroom about 7-8 times during that shift as my stomach was going wild and making all these weird noises as I tried to repress the release of gas. I also resulted in going into stairwells to help the problem. It was miserable and embarrassing!
Needless to say, I avoid the Fiber One Bar if I need to go anywhere public. While they are delicious, don't let them fool you. They are nasty little gas creating bombs!

I thought they were just supposed to make you release!
Lisa,
I can totally relate with you!!! I had the same problem. But there was also another problem... I was nursing during that time and therefore the Fiber transfered to little Tyler. Poor guy, he had the worst pain and gas and he ended up screaming in pain. Needless to say, I stopped eating them.
That sucks!
I actually love these little bars and don't suffer ill effects from them, thank goodness!
That's hilarious! Thanks for the heads up.
Glad I'm not alone! I LOVE these bars! Have you tried the Caramel? Don't. You'll just be miserable. But they are SO GOOD!
These things are like a laxative to me. Since we're on the subject of TMI...
Wow, Lisa, that is a little close to TMI ;-)
Good laugh though. I love coming to yours and Kristina's blogs to learn what products I need to avoid.
Yeah, once when I was in high school I went on choir tour to California. I thought I would be healthy and take pears to eat on the long bus ride... That was NOT the right choice to make. Unfortunately it was only after eating about 6 pears I realized the source of all my woes...
Wow. Great advice!
