For years I have always looked forward to the Olympics, Summer or Winter. I have lots of memories as a child of watching Kristi Yamaguchi skating, the Nancy Kerrigan and Tanya Harding fiasco, and Keri Strug doing a vault on an injured ankle to win gold.
This year I find myself glued to the TV every night. Watching swimming, gymnastics, volleyball. You name it. My favorite was the men's 400 relay where Jason Lezak was a full length behind the french guy at the turn, but somehow powered the last 15M to win gold. CRAZY! Chris and I couldn't believe it. We were almost as excited as Michael Phelps. That feeling of making the seemingly impossible, possible. I can't even imagine.

But there is just something about the athletes standing at the podium as the Star Spangled Banner plays with a gold medal around their neck that gives me chills. Here they are, having worked for years working out, training, and competing, to get to that moment. I have no idea how that feels, but I am in awe of watching them.

I haven't been following very well, but I do love watching swimming and gymnastics.
I know people think Michael Phelps looks weird, but I think his personality/passion is totally adorable.
